Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

Is Chiropractic only for back pain? Why would I need Chiropractic care?

Whilst Chiropractic is commonly known for solving neck and back pain, Chiropractors also look after patients who present with other neuro-musculoskeletal injuries, such as headaches, joint sprains, and knee osteoarthritis, among many others. Check out a fuller list of conditions we treat here. Sometimes, people do not come in with any complaints of pain but to seek Chiropractic care for maintenance and wellness purposes.

Is there an age limit to Chiropractic treatment?

No there isn’t! Chiropractic care can be provided for young children and older individuals alike. Chiropractors are trained to adapt their treatment methods in ways that suit their patients.

Do I have to take x-rays first before coming in for my Chiropractic sessions?

Not necessarily. If you already have pre-existing x-rays/imaging, it may be helpful to bring them in during your sessions. If your Chiropractor believes it necessary to refer you out for further imaging, they will do so!

Your Session with Us

What should I expect on my first visit?

First visits typically consist of (1) an initial consultation and (2) treatment, if time permits. Consultations usually take between 30-45 minutes, in which your Chiropractor will ask for pertinent information about your case history, carry out a thorough physical examination, and spend time explaining your diagnosis to you. If you require further imaging before proceeding, you will be referred out.

If you are comfortable with what has been communicated to you and would like to get treated, your Chiropractor will then carry out treatment that is suited to your condition. Sometimes, your Chiropractor will recommend a combination of several methods of treatment to get the best recovery for you.

What types of treatment do you offer?

We provide Chiropractic Adjustments, Webster Technique, Physiotherapy, Dry Needling, Traction, Decompression & Mobilisation (TDM) Therapy, and Therapeutic Ultrasound. To read more about the treatment we provide, click here.

How long will I take to recover?

This depends on many factors. Beyond considering your condition, other factors such as your age, the severity and duration of your condition, and your past health history all play a role in your recovery rate. Everyone’s body is different; hence we tailor our treatment plans and prognosis according to our findings on the initial consultation.

How much does it cost?

Your Chiropractor will recommend and discuss a suitable treatment plan for you. We provide care plans for patients who may require more treatment sessions to allow them to save a little more per session. First visits that consist of an initial consultation and treatment typically start from RM250, and may be more depending on the type of treatment carried out.

How should I dress for my Chiropractic and/or Physiotherapy sessions?

Generally any clothing that feels comfortable to you is fine. For Physiotherapy sessions specifically, come in loose clothing that you will be comfortable moving in! For ladies, preferably a sports bra.

Can I receive Chiropractic treatment after meals?

Yes, you can. However, your Chiropractic session would likely require you to lie face down at certain points. This may feel slightly uncomfortable if you have eaten a very full meal right before.

Can I receive Chiropractic treatment while I am on my period?

Yes, you may! Unless you personally feel uncomfortable with getting adjusted on your period, Chiropractic adjustments can even sometimes help reduce some of the lower back aches and cramps that people experience during their period.

Where are you located?

We started off in Damansara Jaya, but have now expanded with a second branch in Taman Wahyu, Kuala Lumpur.

Additional Questions

What is the cracking sound that happens with a Chiropractic adjustment?

When a joint is adjusted, gas bubbles in that joint are typically released due to the change in pressure within. This causes the “popping”/”cracking” sounds that are commonly associated with Chiropractic adjustments.

What is the difference between Chiropractic and Tit Tar?

Both professions have different origins, clinical training, diagnostic methods, and philosophy.

Chiropractic treatment aims to clear dysfunctions in the spinal joints in order to restore balance in the body. Chiropractic is also well-regulated across different regions in the world, each with their own regulatory body. In Malaysia, certified Chiropractors are registered with the Association of Chiropractic Malaysia (ACM) which can be found at https://chiroacm.org/.

Can you straighten my scoliosis?

This depends on many factors such as the patient’s age, the type of scoliosis, and the goal of treatment.

In adolescents, Chiropractors can help reduce the progression of the curve with the right treatment. In certain cases, there may be a reduction in the scoliotic curve. In adults, Chiropractors typically aim for symptom management and a return to activities of daily living. Overall, it is difficult to answer whether Chiropractic care can straighten scoliosis without a proper consultation and examination first.

Can I come in if I am pregnant?

Does Chiropractic help postpartum?

Yes. There are many complications and discomforts that arise postpartum because your body is going through rapid changes and you are getting less rest and care overall! Chiropractic care after giving birth offers many benefits, such as reducing labor-related pain, easing postpartum discomfort, and addressing pelvic alignment issues.

Physiotherapy

What exactly is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a form of conservative treatment that treats issues relating to muscles, nerves, and even the cardiovascular system. It involves the use of exercises, stretches, massage techniques, and modalities to help reduce pain, improve range of motion, and movement quality.

Isn’t Physiotherapy just a form of massage?

The goal with Physiotherapy is to empower you to better understand your body. This is done by going through a full assessment of your condition to find out the root cause of the problem, which then enables us to establish strategies to help improve your condition in the long term.

Whilst massage techniques can be a useful pain management tool, it isn’t the only method used. In order to achieve long-term recovery, Physiotherapy sessions typically progress to strengthen the body so that you can get back to doing what you love.

What is the difference between Chiropractic and Physiotherapy?

Chiropractic is a healthcare profession that focuses on the relationship between our musculoskeletal system (primarily the spine) and our nervous system.

Physiotherapy focuses on working with muscles and joints to help restore mobility, function, and injury recovery.

Although similar, both professions are not the same in their origins and treatment approach. However, both work to help individuals achieve optimal well-being. Sometimes, Chiropractic and Physiotherapy can provide better recovery results when working hand-in-hand.
